Community College of Vermont (CCV), in Winooski, is displaying the very special, "A Survivor Stands Beside Me" photography exhibit, this week in the Student Lounge. As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, CCV, is displaying 6 of the original pieces from this project from 2011.
The exhibit is made up of photographs of those who have personally been affected by domestic violence, family members, friends, allies, and supporters. This photo exhibition demonstrates that people affected by domestic and dating abuse are always among us.
The six photographs together emphasize the fact domestic and dating violence affects people from all socio-economic, cultural backgrounds, every gender identity, age group, and educational background. Families, friends, and community members are all affected by domestic violence (even if they are not explicitly experiencing the violence).
