Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the impacts of trauma, how trauma responses may present, and their role in supporting survivors as they heal from the violence they experienced.
Trauma-Informed Workplace Training Series
The Trauma Informed Workplace Training Series is a quarterly virtual training and learning space. It is designed for participants to gain knowledge about trauma informed practices in the workplace, connect with other service providers, and bring ideas and inspiration back to their organization. These trainings are open to staff in social service organizations and nonprofits, regardless of program or area of focus. The topics discussed will be especially relevant for those in leadership or supervisory roles, including direct service staff, program coordinators, and human resources managers.
The first half of each two hour meeting will be a training session on a topic related to trauma informed workplaces. Topics may include hiring and onboarding practices, approaches to supervision, providing feedback, and navigating conflict. The second hour will be for discussion, conversation, and sharing wisdom among participants. This is an opportunity to build relationships and seek out insight from others, to share your organization’s successes, and to identify challenges and areas of focus. You do not need to have attended any of the other sessions in the series to sign up!
October 27, 2026 | 1-3PM - Virtual
In October's session of our quarterly Trauma Informed Workplaces Training Series, we invite you to envision what a resilient workplace might look like and how we might work towards shaping an organization centered around healing for service providers and service users. Come prepared to discuss, reflect, and share insights and challenges with each other in a supportive, healing centered space.
In this 2 hour training, we will:
Define resilience and explore how to recognize, respond to, and prevent vicarious trauma in the workplace
Discuss how to have conversations with staff about vicarious trauma and its impact
Reflect on how to incorporate self care and community care practices into the workday
Share ideas, strategies, and wisdom around the difficulties of working within systems, navigating perpetual challenges, and maintaining hope for the future
October's lunch and learn webinar series, open to all community members, will connect with this theme of trauma informed care. Over the course of three sessions, we'll discuss how advocates can support survivors of violence and develop strategies to implement trauma informed principles into their day to day work. See top of this page for details and to register for the lunch and learn series.
