Witnessing domestic violence can have a significant impact on a child’s sense of safety and trust, and can affect the whole family. Our Family Program provides supportive services to families experiencing homelessness due to domestic violence.

basic needs

We can assist with accessing items like clothes, hygiene supplies, school items, and children’s furniture when entering and exiting emergency housing.

community connections & resources

We support families in fostering and maintaining community connections such as school, childcare, youth groups, recreation, and mentorship programs. We can also help parents connect with support for parenting, developmental milestones, mental health, pre/postpartum care, and more. We can also provide guidance for:

  • co-parenting

  • help navigating conversations about intimate partner violence with your children

  • parenting without physical force or yelling

  • answers to any of your questions or concerns

groups

We provide opportunities for parents to connect in our Parent Group and for youth in emergency housing to connect with their peers in our therapeutic playgroups, such as Movement Group, Craft Group, and Toddler time.

Advocacy

We can join you in meetings (e.g., DCF, teacher conferences) to advocate for your family and provide emotional support.
