trauma-informed workplace training series

The Trauma Informed Workplace Training Series is a quarterly virtual training and learning space. It is designed for participants to gain knowledge about trauma informed practices in the workplace, connect with other service providers, and bring ideas and inspiration back to their organization. These trainings are open to staff in social service organizations and nonprofits, regardless of program or area of focus. The topics discussed will be especially relevant for those in leadership or supervisory roles, including direct service staff, program coordinators, and human resources managers.

The first half of each two hour meeting will be a training session on a topic related to trauma informed workplaces. Topics may include hiring and onboarding practices, approaches to supervision, providing feedback, and navigating conflict. The second hour will be for discussion, conversation, and sharing wisdom among participants. This is an opportunity to build relationships and seek out insight from others, to share your organization’s successes, and to identify challenges and areas of focus.

Session #1: Assessing Your Organization's Practices

January 27, 2026 | 1-3PM

Working with populations who have experienced trauma while navigating systems and their own lived experiences can have a significant impact on staff, which then affects the organization as a whole. Over time the organization can become traumatized itself which can lead to fragmentation, isolation, and re-traumatization. Trauma in organizations can create barriers to care, lead to reactive decision making, and negatively impact staff morale and retention.

Let’s envision what it could look like to create organizations that support the healing of service providers and service users.
